CROCHET PARTY!!!

Classes are just about over, so what do I do to celebrate??? Throw a crochet party. . . duh! Last night I was helping my brother work on a paper for finals and I was crocheting, he asked how I do that so I showed him. So today, he came over to work on another paper and my friend Jessica came over to escape her roommates. I had promised to teach her to crochet too, so my room turned into a giant, crochet-Wii-chinese food-party-ignore finals-party spot.

I recently finished watching the anime series Death Note, so I created this amigurumi apple. I got the pattern from the Lion Brand website. My brother and Jessica are working on their first scarves. :D It has been a fun day.

Headband CRAZY!

So, I've been going headband crazy. I like them. You can do a million creative things with headbands and even something really intricate will only take you about an hour.

A few weeks ago I made a headband with a flower for my sister, when I saw it I got a crazy idea. I want to wear a lily pad on my head! I've had a LOT of homework, so I haven't been able to do
much crocheting lately, but now is my fall break and no scrap of yarn is safe. TA DAH!

It may be silly, but I love it. I have the pattern and if anyone is interested I might be persuaded to post the pattern here. ;)

I know it's been a long time.

I know it has been a long time, and I'm sorry, but here's something for you guys. :D I found this really cute flower here:
I thought it was super cute and I was bored, so I decided to use the aforementioned pattern to make this.
This is actually the second headband I made. The first was exactly the same except created in blue. I realized that it was perfect for my sister. I gave it to her and forgot to take a picture so I made a new one. Ta Dah!

This pattern is really simple. All you need is one of those stretchy elastic headbands, some yarn and a button. Just single crochet your way around the headband make a flower and sew it to the headband. Done!

I know it's not crocheted. . .

I know it's not crocheted, but it is something I made with my hands and it is geeky and makes me happy so. . .

Here it is, my Doctor Who inspired t-shirt.

There is a great episode of Doctor Who. And at one point the Doctor says "the Angels have the Phone Box" and another character says he has that on a t-shirt. This has caused every fan kid to make said t-shirt, but I never found one with wings on the back, so I made it myself.

FINALLY!

Happy Easter, all! And what says Easter more than new crochet guys. I am finally back to crocheting after about 7 months of nothing. If you have seen my previous posts, I was diagnosed with tendinitis about 6 months ago and it has taken all of this time for the pain to fully go away. I've done a few stitches here and there over the months, but my first full project since the diagnosis was yesterday. I am making two of my little guys. Here are some pictures.

If you can't tell the first one is Edward Cullen and the second is Dracula. I made the body for Edward about a year ago. It was actually intended to be Captain Jack Harkness, but A) these are presents for a friend of mine and B) I didn't have time to make two new bodies and C) the colors were right (although I wish Ed were a little paler). I made the hair yesterday and it took about 45 minutes. For the record I HATE working with fuzzy yarns, but I think Edward's hair is perfect. I found some really great tips here at PlanetJune.

I started Dracula yesterday and finished him today. Let me tell you, his hair was a pain, but I think he finally looks really good. He has a felt cape that I sewed together, and awesome little fangs.

The only problem now is Edwards eyes. Once that is done, these gifts will be complete! I can't wait to see my friends face. I hope she likes them.
